Getting Started
Where do I find the view that shows everyone's tasks?
Go to My Queue and open the Tasks tab. Use the View dropdown to select "All tasks", which sits alongside the Assigned to me and Assigned by me options you already use. "All tasks" shows every task across all users and all clinics.
I don't see "All tasks" in the View dropdown.
The "All tasks" view only appears for users in a team-lead or admin role, so most staff will not see it.
What can I filter the list down to?
Four filters: Assignee (one team member, or All), Task Title (Task type), Status (All, Open, New, In Progress, Complete), and Priority (All, Urgent, Stat, Routine). Assignee works in "All tasks" and "Assigned by me". Task type, Status, and Priority work in all three views, including "Assigned to me".
Can I change a task's status or priority without opening it?
Yes. Status and Priority are dropdowns you edit right in the row, and the row actions (mark complete, reassign, delete) work the way they always have. These now work on tasks you did not create.
What does a task look like when I open it from "All tasks"?
It is the same detail panel you already use in your personal queue. Title, Details, Status, and Priority are editable, the Patient card has an edit control, and you can see who sent the task, change who it is assigned to, and add comments.
How do I see what changed on a task, and who changed it?
Open the task and go to the History tab. It lists every change newest first: who made it, which field changed, the old and new values, a reason if one was entered, and a timestamp. It covers single edits, edits made in the row, bulk changes, task creation, deletion, and automated system changes.
Can everyone see a task's history?
Yes. The History tab is on every task for every user, and you do not need an admin role to open it. If you can view the task, you can see its complete history.
Bulk Actions and permissions
How do I update several tasks at once?
If you have the Tasks admin permission, every task row has a checkbox, in all three views. Tick two or more tasks and an action bar appears at the bottom of the screen with a count of what you have selected.
Which changes can I make in bulk?
Three: Reassign, Change status, and Change priority. Each one opens a confirmation window that tells you how many tasks will be affected, with an optional Reason box. Anything you type in Reason is saved to each task's History tab.
I can see "All tasks" but there are no checkboxes.
The Tasks admin permission controls bulk editing, and it is separate from the role that gives you the "All tasks" view. A team lead without it can see and work every task, one at a time. If you need bulk editing, reach out through the helpdesk.
How do I know the bulk change actually applied?
The confirmation window states the count before you commit, and a message pops up when it finishes. Your selection then clears on its own. To check any single task, open it and look at the History tab.
It won't let me apply a change to my whole selection.
A bulk action applies to a maximum of 50 tasks. If you select more, Chart asks you to narrow the selection first. Use the filters to cut the list down, then work through it in batches of 50 or fewer.
Can I delete a batch of tasks at once?
No. Bulk delete was left out on purpose. Delete is still a row action on one task at a time.
