View Source Lab Report – Akido

Feature Overview

This release introduces View Source Lab Report functionality in Akido Chart, allowing clinicians reviewing lab results to switch a result preview to the lab's original PDF report in place, without leaving the patient chart. The lab's own formatting, interpretive narrative, methodology notes, and footnotes are now readable alongside the discrete result data, so there is no need to leave Chart to see the source of truth.

Via Reference Bar → Click on any received Quest lab results → Click “View Source Lab Report”
Via a result expanded on a new tab

Getting Started

Where do I find the lab's original PDF report?

Open a received Quest lab result, either from the Reference Bar or from the Results menu on the right side of the chart. Click View Source Lab Report in the result header. The lab's PDF replaces the result data in the same preview, and you stay in the patient chart.

I don't see View Source Lab Report on a result.

It only shows up when the lab sent a PDF for that result. If there's no PDF, the option isn't there at all, not even greyed out. Right now, only Quest Results have PDFs. The feature is also rolling out clinic by clinic, and the Product Delivery team will contact your clinic when it's turned on for you.

What's in the PDF that I don't see in the regular result view?

The PDF is the report as the lab formatted it. It includes the full reference ranges, lab comments, interpretive notes, methodology notes, footnotes, and resistance and mutation tables. It also shows any extra information from the lab that doesn't fit into Chart's standard result fields.

How do I get back to the regular result view?

Click View Source Lab Report again. The preview switches back without reloading, and anything else you had open on the page stays as you left it.

The report is long. Do I have to scroll back up to switch views?

No. View Source Lab Report sits in the result header, which stays in place while you scroll through the PDF.

Can I open the report in its own tab?

Yes. On the full result preview screen, the expand control you already use opens the PDF in a new browser tab. In a panel opened from the Results menu, expand takes you to the full result view instead.

Quest Lab Reports

Which labs does this work for?

Only Quest for now. Akido is working on adding other lab facilities.

Do I need to log in to Quest to see the report?

No. The PDF loads within your Akido Chart session. Chart won't ask you to log in again or enter lab portal credentials.

The PDF won't load.

You'll see an error message where the PDF would be. The rest of the result page still works, and you can click View Source Lab Report to go back to the regular result view.
