Feature Overview
This release introduces 1 key enhancement to Akido Chart:
- Vitals & Trends - A streamlined structured vitals entry experience with support for multiple blood pressure readings, "reason not performed" options, automatic BMI calculation, and a new Trends view for tracking historical vitals side-by-side without interrupting documentation workflow.
Getting Started
Where do I enter vitals during intake?
Open the vitals form from the Schedule screen while you're rooming the patient. The form opens in a pop-up window with fields for height, weight, temperature, and more.
I'm a provider. How do I add or change vitals during the visit?
In an open encounter, go to the AI Note screen. On the left side, find the Vitals card and click the pencil icon. From there you can edit a vital or add one that wasn't entered at intake.
Which vitals are required?
Height, Weight, and blood pressure are required. Each one needs either a number or a reason it wasn't taken.
The patient refused to be weighed. What do I enter?
For Height, Weight, or blood pressure, choose a reason instead of entering a number, such as Patient Declined or Cannot be Obtained.
How do I enter more than one blood pressure reading?
You can add several blood pressure readings for the same visit. For each reading, choose the patient's position: Sitting, Lying, or Supine.
Do I need to calculate BMI?
No. BMI fills in on its own as soon as Height and Weight are entered, and it updates if either one changes. If BMI is blank, check that both Height and Weight have a number.
How do I add a note about a reading?
Every vital field has a comment box for free text. Comments can run over several lines, so there's room for detailed observations.
I entered a reading by mistake.
The vitals form lets you remove a reading that was entered wrong.
Capella Sync
I entered vitals in Akido Chart but I don't see them in Capella.
Vitals entered in Akido Chart do not sync back to Capella in real time.
The Vitals tab in Capella sends me to Akido Chart.
Once all MAs have moved to entering vitals in Akido Chart, vitals are no longer available in Capella. This prevents entering the same vitals twice. The Vitals tab in Capella becomes a link that opens Akido Chart vitals.
Do I still need Capella during check-in?
Yes, for now. The "move to provider" step still happens in Capella after check-in, so you'll switch between both systems during the transition.
